Welcome to the homepage of the Lida Holocaust Memorial Foundation. We thank you for visiting our website and giving us the opportunity to share our history with you. Our organization was founded over 50 years ago by survivors of World War 2 from the Lida area in modern day Belarus (then Poland) many of whom who were rescued by the Bielski Brothers portrayed in the movie Defiance.

The foundation aims to both cherish the memories of all those who have been lost in Lida and neighboring communities as well as commemorate all those who survived - with the hope of keeping the Lida spirit alive for generations to come. Our fundraising efforts support a vast a number of causes including gravesite maintenance, upcoming scholarship programs, Holocaust awareness/education events, memorial services and much more.

Throughout this our website you will find a community forever united by our past and still connected to one another. We remain committed to educating future generations as well as reconnecting with those who share our history. Here the Lida spirit lives on.

We invite you to travel throughout this site where you will read stories of survival, see pictures of the past and present, find prayers, a discussion message board, a list of future events, and much more. If you would like to contact the society with any questions or with any material to put online please let us know.

"Let us remember, let us remember the heroes of Warsaw, the martyrs of Treblinka, the children of Auschwitz. They fought alone, they suffered alone, they lived alone, but they did not die alone, for something in all of us died with them." - Elie Wiesel
